"Susan Hart of Serenity Achieved is the best body worker ever! Check out her FB page & schedule an appt w/ her.  She is intuitive & multi-talented.  Her treatments are an integral part of my health & healing journey.  Thank you, Susan!"  ~Stacey G in Pottstown, PA
"Both my husband and I have known Susan for many years (too many to count!).  There is no better therapist than Susan.  She has done more for my mental and physical state than I could have achieved alone or with any traditional medical care.  Sometimes she knows what I need even if I haven't realized it yet and we work together to determine the best course of treatment.  The feeling I have after a massage is wonderful and completely relaxed!  Whenever I work with Susan I feel like I am taking a step towards a more healthy, balanced life."
~Chrissy M in Chester Springs, PA

Susan's Style of Bodywork

Ultimately my goal is to help, to help empower YOU.  So you are better able to take charge of your own healing process and achieve your goals.  Your goal may be pain relief, relaxation, to achieve more/better restful sleep, support a training program to run a marathon in the spring or one of MANY others.  People of all ages (my youngest client is a toddler and my oldest is in her 80's) come to see me for a wide variety of reasons.

I see my role as being to help facilitate your healing; this is achieved through a process.  Chances are, unless you have a recent injury, you didn't get where you are overnight; so you likely will take time to reach your goal.  We begin with a discussion about why you are coming to see me.  Next we decide on a tentative treatment plan to work toward your goal; as your session progresses, I may ask questions as I palpate and massage your soft tissue.  your treatment plan is flexible and may include one or many techniques to address the issue(s) that brought you to my office.  Some goals require little participation on the part of the client:  stress relief for example typically requires a passive participant.  Whereas someone coming to see me for pain relief may need to do some breathing exercises while I work on them and perhaps some soaking and/or stretching at home (which I teach you how to do) between sessions.  I may make suggestions about what you may be doing in your day to day that could be contributing to what brought you to see me.  We will work as a team to help you achieve your goal(s).

Each bodywork session is unique, both from person to person and even from session to session on the same person, depending on the needs and wishes of the client that day.  Before beginning any session we will determine what you most need/want worked on and your goals for that session.  A typical session involves a short dialog between myself and you, during which time we talk about how you've felt since your last treatment and what needs attention that day.  We will then decide on a tentative treatment plan, taking into consideration your input, my knowledge of body mechanics and intuition as well as what is your ultimate goal we are working toward.

During your session (with me or any other therapist) if at ANY time you feel uncomfortable in ANY way, or pain of any kind, please let me know immediately.  Pain is valuable information to me as a therapist.  Some massage techniques can be uncomfortable (like deep tissue work), but they shouldn't ever be out and out painful...causing you to clench your teeth and/or curl your toes, basically creating more work elsewhere in your body.

Every BODY reacts differently to pressure and different combination applications of techniques.  What works for your sister may or may not work for you.  Therapists can not read your mind.  During any session you, the client are in charge.  It is your body and your money you are spending.  My goal is to help you feel better and empower you.
